So what if I'm the only person in the blogosphere who still does this? It's a tradition by, now, dammit.
1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
Graded AP exams? How lame.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I really don't know why I don't just delete this question.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yup. And the result might already be smarter than me.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not yet. Which is kineahora but also a way of acknowledging a tough year for those in the Nerdiverse.

5. What countries did you visit?
I maintain that New York is its own little universe.

6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
A sense of pleasure in my job.

7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Can't remember a one. v. sorry.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Introducing H to whiskey. Definitely.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Open my teaching file. Pick one.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Physical, no. Mental, well,....

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Possibly my shawl. Thanks again, sunflowerakb!

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Dr. S, and Frendy. Or, at any rate, their behavior merited much drinking, throughout the People's Republic.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Well, it was usually someone headed for student teaching.

14. Where did most of your money go?

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Six States in Four Daaaaaayyyyyyyssssss!!!!

This has been sort of a lousy musical year, kids. I'll vote for "Hey There Delilah" while not actually endorsing the Plain White Ts.

i. happier or sadder? even not happier these days.
ii. thinner or fatter? Fatter. Fucking 16-hour days.
iii. richer or poorer? richer. The upside of 16-hour days.

I suppose not. But I do have some unresolved issues.

A sense of pleasure in my job.

TAs. Many.

Screw you, I'll be here for 16 hours today.

Sanity is one of many things that eluded me this year.

Jason Marquis.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
I miss being politically aware. I wish Virginia Tech had spurred GSC, and educators everywhere, to think more seriously about how students with all types of special needs can be accommodated on our campuses. (All right, fine. And whether they really can make it with us.)

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Baby Brother!

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007:
When traveling, always bring toilet paper. Especially for week-long accommodations in the San Diego State dorms.
