Year-End Meme

So what if I'm the only person in the blogosphere who still does this? It's a tradition by now, dammit.

1. What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?
Lived carfree. And loved it.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I really don't know why I don't just delete this question.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Scary number of Facebook friends, but no real, close, friends. Thankfully.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
2009 isn’t over yet, so let’s go with “I hope not.”

5. What countries did you visit?
Vegas, Baby.

6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
A sense of my purpose. (Cue “Avenue Q” soundtrack here, please.)

Wish I could remember Muse and the BoM’s wedding date. Oh well.

There were definitely moments when mine did. Ah, well.

My savings account. Which is just as well, considering the Great Uncertainty ahead.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Not much. I’d like to change that.

16. What song will always remind you of 2009?
I miss the radio. It’s the one downside of carfree life (which could be solved with the right pair of iPod headphones, I realize).

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? I don’t know.
ii. thinner or fatter? Thinner. Thank you, Wii Fit and The Gym Where We Don’t Wear Underpants.

Don't celebrate it, and 31.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Sanity is one of many things that eluded me this year.

Ryan Theriot. I bought a jersey, kids!

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
I like to imagine that, back in April, the conversation between some Iowa law-types went like this: “But why can’t two girls get married?” “Well, we never done it that way before.” “But they can both do a day’s work, can’t they? So why not?” “Well, I don’t want to be doing it. But if they want to, what the hell.”
